In recent weeks, we’ve completed several projects that equip caravans and motorhomes with battery and solar setups including:

600Ah of Lithium Batteries: This ensures ample power storage for extended off-grid adventures.
800w of Solar Panels: Harnesses the sun’s energy to keep your batteries charged.

This latest project is another upgrade again with a whopping 1120w of on-roof solar.

A JB Stinger Gets a Powerhouse Upgrade

The owner of this JB Stinger recently brought their van to us after experiencing performance issues with their existing batteries and solar system. Our diagnosis revealed the limitations of their current setup, prompting them to make the decision for a comprehensive upgrade.

To maximise off-grid power, we transformed the JB Stinger with:

Upgraded Lithium Batteries (2 x 300Ah): Enhanced capacity to meet the owner’s energy demands.
800w (4 x 200w) Solar Panel System: Efficiently captures sunlight to replenish the batteries.
Additional 320w (2 x 160w) Solar Panels: This bonus addition brings the total solar power to a whopping 1120w!

With this significant upgrade, the JB Stinger owner can now enjoy off-grid freedom for extended periods.

Summary of work completed:

Removal and replacement of existing solar panels
Test solar system in direct sunlight and report on solar output dependent on weather and time of year and day of testing.
Supply fit and wire new 2 x Victron Smartsolar Mppt 100/50 Solar Regulators assembly allowing for the MPPT unit to adjust its input voltage to harvest the maximum power from the solar array and then transform this power to supply the varying voltage requirement of the battery plus load.
