Sandgate Auto Electrics and Automotive Services 50th Anniversary Charity Event a Great Success
What a night! The Sandgate Auto Electrics and Automotive Services 50th Anniversary Charity Event was a cracking night on Saturday night at the Hamilton Hotel with over 200 guests attending the gala event.
In total, the event raised over $40,000 from the charity auction, raffle tickets, money tins and donations with proceeds to be donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service Queensland section.
MC Greg Ritchie, (former Australian cricketer) kept the crowd entertained and did a wonderful job as the Auctioneer. We heard the story of Allan and Susan McArthur who with $60 started the business and Todd McArthur (now McArthur CEO), spoke of the last 18 years since he took over the business.
Executive General Manager Fundraising and Philanthropy for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) (Queensland Section) Katherine Ash said the generosity and kindness shown during the fundraising event is greatly appreciated.
“We’re proud of the longstanding support from Sandgate Auto Electrics & Automotive Services and the amazing community that gets behind their fundraising efforts each year,” Ms Ash said.
“The money raised on the night goes towards life-saving work that people in some of the most remote parts of Australia really count on.”
Todd McArthur made special mention to the event sponsors who donated funds and auction items, to friends and family, to the many customers over the years and those from the industry bodies in attendance.
“The night just doesn’t happen without the generous support of the event sponsors and those who attended and to raise over so much money was an outstanding result. Everyone had a great night and are so proud to support an organisation like the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), Queensland section.”
Celebrations went well into the night, rocking on with the band, Cali.
The event was a great celebration for a great achievement, 50 years in business for a local Sandgate business and raising money for a wonderful cause. Well done to everyone involved.
